IT Journey management philosophy

Most IT Governance practices are delivery oriented and inspired by W. Edwards Deming's cycle "Plan Do Check Act". These practices were authored when CEOs were looking for productivity and quality increase through process re-engineering coupled with IT systems usage.

As CEOs are expecting innovation through IT systems usage, relationships between the IT clients and IT suppliers are taking precedence over the delivery processes : if we say that innovation occurs when a product meets its market , then we should contemplate that relationships source innovation, not the supplier's delivery processes.

To innovate through IT usage, IT journey management should turn from a process-based philosophy to relation-based philosophy.
